Needs:

Dutch medical care is having a sturdy time with overpopulated emergency wards due to aging of the Dutch population in combination with reduction of hospital admission capacity and a lack of nursing staff. To improve the acute care the on the emergency ward the function of acute internist was started in 2008 whom now play an important role in the acute setting. The current name of our society is the Dutch Acute Medicine. However to emphasize our relation with other Dutch societies the name had recently been changed in to the “Nederlandse Vereniging voor Internisten Acute Geneeskunde” (NVIAG) also known as “acute internisten”.

In an attempt to change our name on the website it was noticed that our current brand logo has looks rather similar to the loge of the UMC Amsterdam. They also accepted a tulip in similar colors. Therefore this contest, a new name, a new brand logo.

What do we want?
A fast, sturdy and strong logo that emphasizes cleverness, power and connectedness:
- Cleverness, because we use the power of our brain to come to the right diagnosis
- Power, because we are becoming the thriving source on the ER
- Connectedness, because we increase the collaboration on the ER and prove to be the missing link.

Thereby, our logo has to fit with the current colours we have on our website (see attachment). Also the name NVIAG and our aka “acute internisten” should be woven into the logo.

What don’t we want?
- We are no cardiologist, therefore a logo of an electrocardiogram is not appreciated
- The tulip, the UMC Amsterdam has a much bigger reach and we don’t want to be directly correlated with them.
- Rather not an aesculapius because it has already been used multiple times
