The prog rock formation from Ghent named "MakiMura" is looking for a logo and fitting corporate identity. MakiMura is a band which tries to merge different genres like metal, progressive metal, shoegaze and folk.
In this contest, it's your task to develop a logo and corporate identity which keeps these things into account:
- Try to go for modern an streamlined.
- Try to incorporate the dubble capital M's of MakiMura. Be careful that it doesn't start to look like a Metallica rip off.
- Don't try to create a typical metal logo.
- Try to go for a word-based logo. If you do want to incorporate images, then integrate the word MakiMura into the picture.
- Try to make a logo which looks good, both in black and white as in colour.
- Don't make it a cliché. If you want to get inspired by other band's logos, try to look at 70's bands and not at for example 80's bands.
- Try not to make a glam rock-ish logo, nor do we want an Iron maiden-ish logo and CID.
- Black Metal and any other unreadable typefaces are completely of the grid as well.
Within this competition, we'll also be adding a link to a moodboard, which we've created to check which colours we think would fit the vibe of the band. If you do want to make use of colour, you can use this moodboard for inspiration.

Bedankt voor de beoordeling. Ik dacht dat het richting Opeth moest, maar blijkbaar ook niet. Dan houd het helaas op voor mij. Dit om dat de ontwerpen telkens op 3 sterren blijft hangen. Succes verder

Hey!
Bedankt voor de reactie. Opeth is inderdaad een voorbeeld dat we vermeldden, maar eerder omdat we die grootte van het logo leuk vinden en de creativiteit die erin zit. Veel van de logo’s die we hier zagen zijn nogal compact of minimalistisch. Daar heb jij zeker rekening mee gehouden, bedankt daarvoor!
Nu is het logo, hoe het er hier uitziet toch niet echt meteen iets waarvan ons hart sneller gaat slaan. Dit omdat het lettertype onder het logo niet helemaal ons ding is. Eigenlijk mag dit wel strakker. De letter “M” zelf is gedetailleerd en fijn uitgewerkt, maar toch werkt het niet voor ons. Ik vrees dat we een beetje “overkill” ervaren bij dit logo.
Als je stopt, alle begrip, maar als je graag nog een inzending doet, dan bekijken we deze zeer graag nog!

Geen probleem!
Het logo is zeker niet mis, maar we zoeken meer dingen die grootser zijn en niet gewoon een bepaald lettertype als je begrijpt wat we bedoelen. Bij deze hele wedstrijd hebben we heel veel typische bandlogo’s gezien of net heel commerciële horeca/bedrijfslogo’s. We zijn nog een beetje aan het wachten op het logo dat ons echt omverblaast, het creatieve logo dat de juiste snaren indrukt zeg maar.
