The prog rock formation from Ghent named "MakiMura" is looking for a logo and fitting corporate identity. MakiMura is a band which tries to merge different genres like metal, progressive metal, shoegaze and folk.
In this contest, it's your task to develop a logo and corporate identity which keeps these things into account:
- Try to go for modern an streamlined.
- Try to incorporate the dubble capital M's of MakiMura. Be careful that it doesn't start to look like a Metallica rip off.
- Don't try to create a typical metal logo.
- Try to go for a word-based logo. If you do want to incorporate images, then integrate the word MakiMura into the picture.
- Try to make a logo which looks good, both in black and white as in colour.
- Don't make it a cliché. If you want to get inspired by other band's logos, try to look at 70's bands and not at for example 80's bands.
- Try not to make a glam rock-ish logo, nor do we want an Iron maiden-ish logo and CID.
- Black Metal and any other unreadable typefaces are completely of the grid as well.
Within this competition, we'll also be adding a link to a moodboard, which we've created to check which colours we think would fit the vibe of the band. If you do want to make use of colour, you can use this moodboard for inspiration.

Hey, bedankt voor je inzending!
Dit ziet er op zich een heel goed en strak logo uit. Het probleem is dat het ons helaas niet aan een muziekgroep doet denken. Het is toch iets te commercieel naar onze smaak. Wel fijn dat je het op een t-shirt hebt gezet om zo te laten zien! Dit is exact een stap die we zouden willen zetten.
Als je nog een inzending wilt doorsturen, raad ik je aan om toch eerst wat meer bandlogo's op te zoeken op google. Geef bijvoorbeeld '70's bandlogo' en kijk eens naar het logo van "The Who" of "The Doors". Die zijn iets levendiger en meer dan gewoon een aangepast lettertype.

Bedankt voor jullie feedback. Ik stuur hierbij nog enkele andere voorstellen. Zit er iets tussen dat jullie aanspreekt, of mag het toch wat 'stoerder'? Ik geraak jammer genoeg niet op jullie moodboard, is er een probleem met de link of doe ik iets mis?
