First of all we are looking for a new logo and after that a business card etc.
The logo should tell our potential clients in one look what kind of business he or she is dealing with and must be triggered or seduced to look further into our possibilities.
Next to that the logo must come out clear on different things (website, businesscard, clothing, flag etc.)
Company description:
VFC Zeilcharters has two authentic Sailing Clippers which sail with guests (15-100 persons) from a small port called Monnickendam (close to Amsterdam.
The ships are booked by organizations as well as private groups for company trips, teambuilding, birthdays, anniversaries, wedding on board etc.
Our guest may help with hoisting the sails, steering and all the other activities on deck. No must though, they can also sit back and relax with a drink and a snack.
De ships are over a hundred years old (resp. built in 1898 and 1998), but are provided with modern comfort and atmosphere
Target group:
We have a large and divers target group. The age of the people who decide on a sailing trip lies between 20 - 80 years.
We operate in a highly competitive market which makes a smashing first impression on your potential client very important to differentiate yourself from competitors. As there are many people with as many different taste, you want to appeal to as many as you can, without losing your own identity along the way. The identity which make you stand out from competition. Which is in our case:
- Personal approach (fast and flexible contact, willing to think out of the box and advise)
- quality and sustainability (ships are very well maintained, catering is homemade, fresh and good)
- we actually love what we do, which translates in a very high level of hospitality
Colors, favourites and other requirements
First of all, please surprise us. We are open for everything, but to give some directions:
- please look at our website www.vfczeilcharters.nl. Not in English yet unfortunately, but the look and feel can give you a general idea of which logo should fit in
- Colours are allowed, not a must. When you use colours, please do it subtle and no bright colours please. The logo must be printed in one colour too on foto's and clothing (mostly in white)
- Our company name is VFC Zeilcharters (2003). This must be somewhere in/at the logo. Year 2003 is not necessary.
- Our slogan is: 'Unieke events op de wind vandaag'
which means as much as unique events on todays wind, which translates om a beautiful sailing day with a tradional sailing ship they used for cargo a 100 years ago, but which is pleasantly decorated to our nowadays standards of comfort, safety and atmosphere.
We would like to have a logo with and without this slogan to use for different purposes.
We would love the logo to have a fusion feel: traditional versus today. Modern elegancy but not (too) abstract.
- The nautical world has a lot of symbolism and romace, but we are not looking for the usual anchors, steering wheels and silhouettes of ships etc. What did came to mind was a subtle wind rose, because of our slogan, but this is not a must.

tot nu toe het ontwerp dat ons het meeste aanspreekt, maar de windroos vinden we niet zo heel erg mooi of herkenbaar misschien. Ik krijg een beetje statue of liberty associatie erbij. Het mag een eenvoudige roos zijn, of misschien geen roos, maar alleen de windstreken. Het is heel lastig om te vertalen, sorry!

PS. een ster is normaal gesproken niet echt motiverend, meer "bedankt voor de moeite" -

Goedemorgen, dank je wel voor je ontwerp(en)! Deze heeft potentieel, maar ik vind m nog wel te braaf. De windroos mag van mij wel wat nostalgischer en minder recht. Wat ons betreft is onze bedrijfsnaam ondergeschikt aan het logo, dus hoeft in principe niet al te prominent in beeld. Het plaatje moet het werk gaan doen zeg maar, want de bedrijfsnaam is niet heel erg spannend. De kleurstelling is ook iets te mediterraans naar onze smaak :-) ZOu je iets kunnen met (donker)grijs, mat goud en een grijsgroenige kleur? Voor een indicatie van die laatste kleur heb ik geen kleurnummer, wel een naam: paradise found, dit is een groenige trendverf (aloe vera). Dank je wel
