Needs:

A winner has been chosen, competition extended to discuss adjustments.

Company name; Dawn Designs – Menuiserie – Joinery
As I am an English native but residing in France, I would like to mention my trade in both languages. I would like to have the option to remove the text sometimes from the logo, so the imagery needs to stand alone and be identifiable.

Company description;
1. Selling premade and custom made wooden items for the home
2. Offering a made to measure service to build kitchens, dressing rooms, bathroom units and more, from melamine, MDF, chipboard and natural timber.

Logo request;
I need the logo to be quite generic so that I may represent both markets; selling items online, as well as offering professional home renovation services and products.
The logo should be professional, clean, and as simple as possible, it will be all about the colour contrasts and shapes used. I do not wish to see in the logo, any representation of the items I will make. I wish to use shapes and imagery of tools of the trade. More specifically, I would like to incorporate in the design:
1. Either a circular saw blade OR a hand saw
2. Contours (like those on a map to show a mountain) OR a simplistic representation of wood grain

Logo colours;
ALL of the following;
1. Dark purple (aubergine)
2. Pale purple/grey
3. Dark grey
4. White (with options to remove the colour to have negative space)

ONE (or non) of the following complimentary colours, I will let you decide;
1. Burnt orange
2. Mustard yellow
3. Lime green
I use these colour names, but please feel free to deviate and find a complimentary version that works. I like bright, with a grey hint.

Files types;
1. JPG, PNG, PDF, PSD, GIF, AI, files
2. I will use the logo on social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, Etsy, on my website)
3. I will print the logo on A4/A3 paper such as for client quotes, flyers, business cards and on plans/design sheets.
4. There is the potential for the logo to be printed on a vehicle later on and also for signage at expositions

I wish to be able to resize the logo and for the quality of the image to remain. I need to have the option to edit the logo to remove the font. I would like to receive or have the option to create vector versions of the logo.

I am excited to see the results!
Thank you in advance for your hard work.
Kind regards,
Dawn Designs - Menuiserie - Joinery

      Hello,
      Thank you for your feedback.
      Here my new design for you.
      The handle is also a letter "D"...
      Let me know what do you think and if I can be more helpful.

      Regards,
      Krisi

      Hi Krisi,

      Apologies for the delay in my latest reply.

      I also really love this new design, it speaks to me! It is hard to say what is not working with it to be honest.

      On the right side of the "D" of the handle, there is the slight affect of an outline. I am just wondering how well this will embroider onto fabric. The larger an area, the better so as to not be too fiddly. What do you think? Maybe the contour pattern could be moved slightly left or similar?

      Kind regards,
      DD

      Hello,

      Here my design... slightly change.. and I make you one more design which is with much more different contours.
      Let me know if I can be more helpful.

      Regards,
      Krisi

    2. TDCrook says :

      Hey Krisi, a small adjustment but much nicer, this is my favourite, thank you. The colours you have chosen are just what I was looking for. Would you mind trying one more design; keep the font as it is but instead try a hand saw, with the contour/wood grain lines shown on the handle part of the saw? If you have the chance, I would love to see.
      Kind regards

      Hi Krisi. Thank you for your fast work. My first impressions of your design are great! Perfect colour choice. I spoke with a close friend about the design and they unfortunately saw something in it which I did not...the contour lines resemble part of the female form. Perhaps this could be adjusted slightly, so that there are are few more lumps and bumps in the shape? Don't hesitate to go more crazy with the pattern, it does not have to be one mountain form, although I can see how this may over complicate. Perhaps you have an idea?
